Verizon Multi-Cloud: Simplifying Enterprise Cloud Operations
Designing a scalable SaaS management platform for usage, spend, and optimization
Verizon MultiCloud is an enterprise platform that helps organizations manage SaaS applications across a multi-cloud environment. The goal of this work was to create a clear, scalable way to understand usage, control spend, and identify cost-saving opportunities, all within a single, consistent experience.
The Problem
Enterprise teams rely on dozens of SaaS tools, leaving usage and cost data fragmented across systems.
As a result, IT and Finance teams struggle to:
understand what’s actually being used
forecast and control spend
identify waste and optimization opportunities
govern access and audit activity
This complexity leads to overspend and slow decision-making.
Goal
Understand SaaS usage and spend at a glance
Forecast and plan using annual cost views
Identify savings opportunities (idle resources + optimization)
Support governance workflows (users, access, audit logs)
Scale across multiple SaaS applications with consistent navigation and patterns
Approach
I focused on designing a system that makes complex enterprise data easy to scan, compare, and act on without sacrificing flexibility at scale.
The platform was designed to:
Centralize SaaS usage, cost, and governance data into a unified experience
Surface high-signal metrics first, with deeper detail available on demand
Support multiple roles through configurable dashboards and reusable patterns
Scale across additional applications, teams, and data sources
This approach balances clarity and density, enabling fast decision-making in complex multi-cloud environments.
Solution

The final design centers around a set of core surfaces:
Overview for at-a-glance usage and spend
Usage & Annual Spend to understand cost drivers and trends
Budget to support forecasting and accountability
Cost Savings to surface idle resources and optimization opportunities
Users & Logs to support governance and auditability
Together, these screens give enterprise teams a complete picture of SaaS health without overwhelming them with data.

Configurable Dashboards
Enabled teams with different roles to tailor visibility without engineering support.

Key Design Decisions
Scan-first dashboards
Prioritized clear hierarchy and trends over dense reporting to support fast signal detection.
Actionable insights
Designed budget and savings views to drive decisions, not just visibility.
Scalable structure
Established consistent navigation and patterns reusable across SaaS tools and teams.
Flexible workflows
Enabled customization through configurable dashboard widgets to support different roles and priorities.
Impact
The platform shifts SaaS management from reactive reporting to proactive decision-making.
This design enables enterprise teams to move from fragmented cloud data to informed decision-making within a single platform.
As a result, teams can:
Gain faster visibility into SaaS usage and spend across applications
Identify optimization opportunities and potential cost savings earlier
Reduce manual effort required to analyze usage, budgets, and ownership
Support consistent decision-making across IT, Finance, and Operations
The system establishes a scalable foundation for ongoing expansion as enterprise cloud environments evolve.
